On arrival at the
port you will check-in and board the catamaran. The crossing is
estimated to take 90 minutes, however this can be slightly longer on
occasions, depending on weather conditions. The Catamaran is
equipped with restrooms, a very good cafeteria serving a variety of
hot or cold snacks/beverages and a small boutique/gift shop.
On arrival in Pozzallo you will be greeted by the local driver
guides and 4x4s.
This itinerary is full of adventures which will include off-roading,
exploring caves and a lot of stunning scenery.... Our first stop is
a typical industrial archaeological site. Here we will visit some of
the old mines which date back to the 800s. Tar was produced and
exported to cities around the world to asphalt roads. We will venture
60 metres down some of the mine caves.
We continue our 4x4 adventure into the Valley and the river Irminio,
this rives was once used for navigation, however today is merely a
torrent surrounded by unspoilt nature. The part of the tour will
take us through country lanes, muddy terrain and flowing river
streams...
A local lunch is included and this will be in a typical family owned
agriturismo country residence.
After lunch we proceed to Ragusa. Here will have some free time
(approx. 1hr 30min) to enjoy the charm of this town before retuning
the 4x4s. Regular transport will then take us to Le Masserie, a
shopping centre on central Ragusa.
We return back to
the port to board the Catamaran for our return to Malta which is
scheduled at 2130hrs. Transport will be waiting for on arrival in
Malta to return you back to your hotel/drop off point. |
