This tour includes some of central Malta's highlights and our first stop includes a visit to the town of Mosta. Dominating the central piazza is the Rotunda church, more commonly known as Mosta Dome. It is probably the most famous church in Malta, mainly because of its large dome which is the fourth largest unsupported dome in Europe. For many visitors, the most fascinating feature of this church was the World War II incident when during an air raid a bomb pierced the dome and fell inside the church during a service which was attended by 300 locals, but the bomb failed to explode and this the locals hailed as a miracle. You can visit the sacristy which displays the events and houses a replica of the bomb.

Our next stop is the Ta'Qali Village. Ta'Qali was once the British RAF base in central Malta, this old airfield is now home to our National Football Stadium, a  National park, conventions centre and Crafts Village which houses an array of artisans. Here we can view the local crafts and it is also the ideal place to purchase some gifts from a good selection of locally made pottery and ceramics, filigree and jewellery, cane works, stone and much more. Do not miss out on the glassblowers – decorative glass made in the traditional manner by hand and mouth; also etching and crystal cutting.

Our final visit is to the medieval city of Mdina. Mdina is built on a plateau in the centre of the island, the city's old Baroque buildings, Cathedral and magnificent bastion walls dominate the rural skyline. Mdina, once the capital of Malta until the modern city of Valletta was built had many names including Melite (Roman occupation), Medina (Arabic occupation), Citta Notabile (Knights of St. John) and Citta Vecchia (after Valletta was built). Today it is also referred to as the Silent City since it inspires tranquillity at any time of the day or night. The only way to really experience and enjoy this city is on foot, explore the quaint alleys, narrow streets, ancient buildings and magnificent far-reaching views from the high bastion walls.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back.

The tour will take us back in time to medieval Malta, the Roman period and the very heart of Christianity. We will start with a visit to Rabat. Here we will make our way through the narrow streets to the centre which is dominated by the imposing St. Paul's Church which overlooks the piazza. Rabat can claim the origins of Maltese Christianity. It was here in AD60 that the Apostle St Paul is said to have stayed after being shipwrecked on the Islands. During our visit to Rabat, we will include an internal visit of the impressive St. Paul's catacombs.

Our next stop includes the ancient city of Mdina.

The final stop during this tour is to San Anton Gardens. These magnificent gardens are located in the grounds of San Anton Palace – today the official residence of the President of Malta. Probably the best known of our public gardens, San Anton Gardens were first laid out by Grand Master Antoine de Paule between 1623 and 1636. You can wander along paths and terraces which are lined with enormous trees, hedges, flower beds and old stone pots full of plants to any of five ponds with ducks, fountains and water lilies. Here one also finds the largest orchard on the Island with more than 800 orange trees and other citrus trees.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back.

The Three Cities of Senglea, Cospicua and Vittoriosa are located to the south of Valletta and form part of the magnificent Grand Harbour. These cities have endured so much in the past including the Great Seige of 1565 against the might of the Ottoman Empire and of course endless bombardments during WWII. This short half-day tour is a mere introduction to these unique cities, their history, heritage and people.

The Threes Cities are located inside fortifications known as the 'Cottonera Lines' which were built by the Knights of St. John to protect these cities during the 17th and 18th centuries. We start our tour with a visit to Senglea. Senglea was built on a peninsula and could only be accessed by a bridge on one side and from the sea from the other three sides. As you enter the city you will notice the magnificent church which is dedicated to the Nativity of Our Lady. Today Senglea is flanked on one side by a shipyard, on the other side the stunning yacht marina and at the point of the city, one can enjoy magnificent views of the harbour.

As soon as you leave Senglea you will immediately arrive in the second of the three cities, Cospicua. This history of this ancient maritime city can be traced back to the Phoenicians era at 600 BC. The Knights of St. John built the first Dock Yard during the 18th century, however, it was the during the British rule in Malta (1800 to 1964) that Cospicua was used extensively by the Royal Navy. Today the old dockyard area has been transformed into a beautiful marina and a new university.

The last of the Three Cities and undoubtedly the oldest and most important is Vittoriosa. Otherwise and more commonly known as Birgu, the history of Birgu is heavily linked to the Knights of St. John. In 1530 when the Knights first arrived they made Birgu the capital. They fortified the area and built their Palazzo's, hospital, churches and the castle of St. Angelo, this large fortification was separated from the main city of Birgu connected only by a draw bridge. Today, it is known as Fort St. Angelo and is still commands a prominent place at the heart of the Grand Harbour. The Birgu waterfront, once lined with Galley's nowadays is lined with superyachts from all over the world!

The final part of this tour includes a visit to one of the oldest wineries. Winemaking in Malta dates back many many years and we will visit these 400-year-old cellars where you can experience some authentic  Maltese heritage. You can sample some wines during the visit.

During our tour of Valletta, our guide will unfold the history of this magnificent city which was built by the Knights of St. John during the 16th and 17th centuries. We start our walking tour of Valletta at the Upper Barraka Gardens which offer stunning views of the Grand Harbour and magnificent fortifications, a walk down the mains streets where you can admire numerous historical buildings built by the Knights of St. John including the Auberges, Palazzos, the Grand Master's Palace and the St. John's Co. Cathedral, the Church of the Order and also home to Caravaggio's masterpiece "Beheading of St. John" amongst other treasures. We include an internal tour of the cathedral before proceeding to our final visit at the Malta Experience which is a superb 45-minute show illustrating the history of the Maltese Islands - from Neolithic to modern times. Malta and Gozo Islands are home to a variety of megalithic structures, seven of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Our half-day tour is a mere insight into a fascinating era dominated by Neolithic man and during this tour, our guide will unfold an ancient history dating back a staggering 5000years.

Our first visit is to the Hagar Qim Temple Complex which includes Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples. Before entering the temples we start at the new visitors centre which will help you understand how these magnificent temples were built over 5000 years ago! We then continue with a tour to the Hagar Qim Temple. This temple has the largest and heaviest megaliths out of all the temple sites around the Maltese Islands, some slabs weighing a staggering 20 tons. Also forming part of this temple complex is the Mnajdra Temple which lies tucked on a slope in the cliffs, overlooking the tiny isle of Filfla. This site is probably the most atmospheric of all Malta’s temples and during the Equinox, on the 20th March and the 22nd September, the rays of the sun pass directly through the temple’s main doorway and light up the main axis. The rays of sun during the Solstices light up the summer table and the winter table alternately.

We proceed with our tour to Ghar Dalam Cave. The Ghar Dalam Cave is a highly important site as it was here that the earliest evidence of human settlement on Malta, some 7,000 years ago, was discovered. This huge cavern is 144 metres deep, but only the first 80 metres are accessible. The lowermost layers date back to the Pleistocene Age (180,00 years ago) and to the end of the last Ice Age (16,000 years ago) and contained the fossilised bones of dwarf elephants, hippopotami, red deer, bear, fox, wolf, micro-mammals and birds.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back.

This popular Sunday morning tour focuses on the south of the island and we start with a visit to the beautiful Wied iz-Zurrieq, famous for the magnificent Blue Grotto. This tiny hamlet sits in a valley and has a very picturesque harbour. The grotto and neighbouring system of sea caves are home to brilliant phosphorescent marine life and you can explore these stunning sites on the 25-minute boat trip which explores the incredible beauty of this natural wonder, it really is a must-do. The boat trip is optional and you should allow €10 adults and €5 for children if you would like to do it. Tour participants that do not want to join the boat trip can grab a drink and enjoy the beautiful scenery or browse around the small outlets.

We then continue to our next stop, en route we will pass some interesting locations until we reach the pretty fishing village of Marsaxlokk. The fishing community still thrives today, in fact, most residents are still actively involved. Other typical characteristics of Marsaxlokk include the low lying buildings which line the picturesque waterfront and the colourful traditional fishing boats called the "luzzu", hundreds of them fill the bay. On Sunday, a 'locals' market expands the whole of the waterfront and this market attracts many locals, this is a fabulous opportunity for you to mix and mingle with them.  If markets are not your thing, you can visit one of the many outlets and try something typical of this locality.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back.

Located in the heart of Mdina is the Palazzo Falson, which originates from the 13th century. What you can see today is a Historic House Museum which has been beautifully restored and houses the personal items of the last owner residing in this house, Capt. Olof Frederick Gollcher OBE (1889-1962).

Your next stop is Clapham Junction. Clapham Junction is covered with very puzzling and mysterious grooves in the rock. They appear to be ancient archaeological roadways of some sort and can an be found all over the islands. Sometimes they are a solitary pair that can go on for miles, however, the cart ruts we will be visiting are extensive and criss-cross each other, hence the name 'Clapham Junction'.  One of the mysteries and frustrations of Malta's ancient history is that there are no records left thousands of years ago.

You will then drive to The Buskett Gardens, located in the fertile valley of Wied il-Luq, Siggiewi. The gardens are at their best in Spring but they offer shade from the harsh mid- Summer sun and offer a quiet place for a walk in the winter months. Verdala Palace, an official residence of the President of Malta, is located on the edge of the Gardens. A coffee break is also included in this tour where you will taste the delicious and traditional “Pastizzi”.

Your final stop is Dingli Cliffs, located less than a kilometre to the south-west of the village of Dingli. The cliffs are 220 metres high and are the highest point in Malta! An isolated chapel makes for a charming landmark. Built-in the 17th century, the Chapel of St. Mary Magdalene offers some of the most beautiful views you can get from these cliffs. From here you can also see the tiny uninhabited islet of Filfla.

During this excursion, you will tour onboard a Vintage Bus, a bus that is now rare to see on the Maltese Islands.

This is the only tour available in Malta which is dedicated to Malta’s British history. During the tour, we will discuss why the British came to Malta, what happened and why they left visiting sites around Valletta and Vittoriosa.

The tour will begin in Vittoriosa where we will see the fortifications which date back to the times of the Knights and were later used by the British for their defensive purpose. We will visit the maze-like, underground Air Raid shelters and relive the conditions of what has been referred to as the Second Great Siege of Malta. These subterranean bomb shelters were excavated in the solid rock and were extended as the war progressed.

After a short walk of Vittoriosa, we will drive to Valletta by bus. We will walk to the upper Barrakka Garden which enjoys a spectacular view of the Grand Harbour (the largest natural harbour of the Mediterranean Sea), which was a British military base and the main reason why Malta came under fire as soon as Mussolini declared war on the Allied forces.

“The declaration of war has already been consigned to the ambassadors of Great Britain and France.” Benito Mussolini 1940

A walk around the streets of Valletta will take us by the Palace which was used by Napoleon Bonaparte, the second world war Victory (Soup) Kitchen, Queen Victoria’s statue and the ruins of the Royal Opera House which was destroyed at the peak of the bombings in Malta.

“This is not the end. It is not the beginning of the end. But it is, perhaps, the end of the beginning.” Winston Churchill 1942

After some free time for a lunch break, we will walk to the lower level of Valletta to the Malta War Museum. The museum itself is situated at Fort St. Elmo, an original defensive system built by the Knights which also was modified to serve the British military purpose. Among the numerous exhibits are the fuselage of one of the legendary Gloster Gladiators and well as the E-boat (human torpedo).

“Without Malta, the Axis will end by losing control of North Africa.” Field Marshal Erwin Rommel 1941

Tour 1: Ancient Temples of Malta
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

Malta and Gozo Islands are home to a variety of megalithic structures, seven of which are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites. Our half-day tour is a mere insight into a fascinating era dominated by Neolithic man and during this tour, our guide will unfold an ancient history dating back a staggering 5000years.

Our first visit is to the Hagar Qim Temple Complex which includes Hagar Qim and Mnajdra Temples. Before entering the temples we start at the new visitors centre which will help you understand how these magnificent temples were built over 5000 years ago! We then continue with a tour of the Hagar Qim Temple. This site is probably the most atmospheric of all Malta’s temples and during the Equinox, on March 20 and September 22, the rays of the sun pass directly through the temple’s main doorway and light up the main axis. The rays of the sun during the Solstices light up the summer table and the winter table alternately.

Tour 2: Blue Grotto & Marsaxlokk Fishing Village
(Duration is 5/6 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

This popular Sunday morning tour focuses on the south of the island and we start with a visit to the beautiful Wied iz-Zurrieq, famous for the magnificent Blue Grotto. This tiny hamlet sits in a valley and has a very picturesque harbour. The grotto and neighbouring system of sea caves are home to brilliant phosphorescent marine life and you can explore these stunning sites on the 25-minute boat trip which explores the incredible beauty of this natural wonder, it really is a must-do. The boat trip is optional and you should allow €10 for adults and €5 for children if you would like to do it.

Tour 3: Discovering Gozo Island
(Duration is 8/9 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

We transfer to the Cirkewwa terminal located in the north of Malta to board our ferry for a short ferry crossing to the island of Gozo. During the crossing, you will pass the smaller island of Comino and you will notice a top of the high rugged cliffs stands the Santa Maria Fort which was used during the movie 'Count of Monte Cristo' (filmed 2002). Our ferry crossing lasts only 25 minutes and on arrival, we join the guide and tour transport for our tour of Gozo.

You will immediately notice that Gozo is much greener and has certain characteristics making it different from the larger island of Malta. We start our tour with a visit to the shrine of Ta'Pinu (dedicated to the Blessed Virgin of Ta' Pinu). This important church is set in a stunning location, on the edge of a ridge in open countryside and providing beautiful views of the surrounding area. The church is also linked to a number or 'miracles' which you will discover during your visit.

We continue to our next stop and the area known as 'Dewjra'. Here you will see three interesting geological sites including Dwejra Bay and the Inland Sea which is a lagoon of seawater which has access to the open sea through a small arch-like tunnel. You can take a small boat trip around the inland sea and through the tunnel (cost of the boat trip is not included in the tour rate, allow €4 per person if you would like to do this and if time allows). Another of Dwejra's geological delights is the Admiral's Rock or as it is better known, Fungus Rock. A special plant is said to grow here which has various medical cures for conditions such as dysentery, bleeding and impotence.

We next visit the Ta’ Dbiegi Crafts Village where you can view local handmade pottery, mouth-blown glass, Gozo lace and silver filigree. This shortstop is ideal if you want to pick up a souvenir. Free time for lunch, not included in the tour rate.

We continue to the main city which is locally called Rabat but you are likely to know it as Victoria, we will take a short walk through this busy little city to join a trackless train for a short trip up the steep hill to the fortified Cittadella. The Cittadella is a small walled city within the city of Victoria, only a small number of families still live within the walls. This historical fortified city has recently undergone major restoration works and you can visit the new visitors centre, explore quaint alleys or stroll around the walls enjoying amazing views of the island from the high bastions.

Next visit are the ancient temples of Ggantija. Ggantija Temples (a UNESCO World Heritage site) are 5500 years old, making them some of the oldest free-standing structures in the world. Our guide will unfold the history related to these 'giant towers' erected during the golden neolithic period (c. 3600–2500 BCE).

The final part of our tour of Gozo will take us through some of the villages, en route we will stop at the Qala Belvedere. This stop gives you an amazing scenic view of the landscape cascading down to the coast and in the distance the smallest island of Comino and the larger island of Malta...all in one photo.

At this stage, our tour is coming to an end and we will make our way back to the ferry for our return to Malta and transport you back to the drop off point.

Tour 4: Three Cities & Winery
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

Senglea was built on a peninsula and could only be accessed by a bridge on one side and from the sea on the other three sides.

The history of this ancient maritime city can be traced back to the Phoenicians era in 600 BC. The Knights of St. John built the first Dock Yard during the 18th century, however, it was during the British rule in Malta (1800 to 1964) that Cospicua was used extensively by the Royal Navy.

Tour 5: Mdina Medieval City, Mosta Dome & Artisans/Crafts Village
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

Tour 6: Valletta & Malta Experience
(Duration is 4 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

During our tour of Valletta, our guide will unfold the history of this magnificent city which was built by the Knights of St. John during the 16th and 17th centuries. Valletta is often referred to as one big open-air museum and this is evident as you start to explore it and discover something different around every corner.

We start our walking tour of Valletta at the Upper Barraka Gardens which offer stunning views of the Grand Harbour and magnificent fortifications, a walk down the main streets where you can admire numerous historical buildings built by the Knights of St. John including the Auberges, Palazzos, the Grand Master's Palace and the St. John's Co. Cathedral, the Church of the Order and also home to Caravaggio's masterpiece "Beheading of St. John" amongst other treasures. We include an internal tour of the cathedral before proceeding to our final visit to the Malta Experience which is a superb 45-minute show illustrating the history of the Maltese Islands - from Neolithic to modern times. The show is displayed on a giant screen by means of state of the art visual and audio effects.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back.

Sunday: Blue Grotto & Marsaxlokk Fishing Village

Monday: Discovering Gozo Island

Tuesday: Three Cities & Winery
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

Senglea was built on a peninsula and could only be accessed by a bridge on one side and from the sea on the other three sides.

The history of this ancient maritime city can be traced back to the Phoenicians era in 600 BC. The Knights of St. John built the first Dock Yard during the 18th century, however, it was during the British rule in Malta (1800 to 1964) that Cospicua was used extensively by the Royal Navy.

Wednesday: Mdina Medieval City, Mosta Dome & Artisans/Crafts Village
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

Thursday: Valletta & Malta Experience

Tour 1: Mdina Medieval City, Rabat & San Anton Gardens
(Duration is 4/5 hours depending on pick up/drop off location)

The tour will take us back in time to medieval Malta, the Roman period and the very heart of Christianity. We will start with a visit to Rabat. Here we will make our way through the narrow streets to the centre which is dominated by the imposing St. Paul's Church which overlooks the piazza. Rabat can claim the origins of Maltese Christianity. It was here in AD60 that the Apostle St Paul is said to have stayed after being shipwrecked on the Islands. During our visit to Rabat, we will include an internal visit of the impressive St. Paul's catacombs.

Our final stop includes the ancient city of Mdina.

The final stop during this tour is San Anton Gardens.

Monday
Valletta, Mosta Dome, Rabat & Mdina Medieval City Tour

Our tour starts near the Tritons Fountain, which is the main place for locals to meet friends before they enter the city, so an appropriate place to meet your guide for a brief intro before we enter into the city. During this tour, you will learn about the Order of St. John, otherwise known as the Knights of Malta. Most of the city was built by the Knights. They were the planners of the auberges, palaces, and magnificent fortifications that you can still see today. We start our walking tour of Valletta at Parliament Square, here will see our modern Parliament building and the old Royal Opera House which was destroyed during WWII. We continue to Castille Place and the Upper Barraka Gardens. These beautiful gardens offer amazing views of the Grand Harbour. Your guide will point out important buildings along Merchants Street as we make our way to the iconic 'Is-Suq', which is the indoor market, then onto St. George's Square which is adorned by the imposing Grand Masters Palace.

Our walking tour of Valletta ends with a visit to the most important historical monument in Malta, this is the amazing St. John's Co. Cathedral. This Cathedral was the conventual church of the Order of St. John and is a gem of Baroque art and architecture. It also features some works from the Italian artist 'Caravaggio', including his largest work 'The Beheading of John the Baptist', which is displayed in the Oratory.

You will then have some free time for a light lunch/snack in Republic Square aka Victoria Square, here there are several cafes including the popular Cafe Cordina.

After our lunch break, we regroup and continue with our afternoon tour. The next part of the tour will take us into the very heart of central Malta. You will visit important landmarks and towns, and learn more about the locals' everyday life and important historical facts that have influenced the Maltese people to whom they are today.

We start with a visit to the magnificent Mosta Dome church. This is one of the most iconic buildings in Malta with its magnificent dome, considered to be one of the largest unsupported domes in the World. But Mosta Dome is known to locals as the miracle church! During one of the frequent WWII air raids, a bomb pierced the dome, falling inside the church during a service, but failed to explode. The locals hailed this as a miracle. You can see a replica of the bomb during your visit.

Our next stop is the old town of Rabat. The history of Rabat is linked to the period of the Romans (218 BC to 879 BC) and Saint Paul, who stayed for a short period after being shipwrecked, whilst on his way to be tried in Rome. The locals claim the origins of Maltese Christianity started here when the saint preached to them. During our visit to Rabat, your guide will walk you along the main street, which is adorned by typical village architecture. You will see quaint houses with traditional balconies and doors, small local shops, the band club premises, and other important aspects of local village and town life. During our short walk, your guide will include a brief stop at 'Is-Sirkien', which is the most famous pastizzeria on the island, you will have the opportunity to taste our favorite street food called 'pastizzi'. These are diamond-shaped filo pastry parcels filled with mashed peas or ricotta cheese, they are delicious.

And, as the saying goes, "Save the best till last". The medieval city of Mdina is our island's pride and joy!. It is built on a plateau in the centre of the island, the city's old Baroque buildings, cathedral, and magnificent bastion walls dominate the rural skyline. Mdina, once the capital of Malta, until the modern city of Valletta was built in 1566 has had many names including Melite (Roman occupation), Medina (Arabic occupation), Citta Notabile, and Citta Vecchia (after Valletta was built). Today it is also referred to as the Silent City since it inspires tranquillity at any time of the day or night. The only way to experience and enjoy this city is on foot, explore the quaint alleys, narrow streets, ancient buildings, and incredible far-reaching views from the high bastion walls.

At this stage, our tour comes to an end and we make our way back to Valletta.

Tuesday
Hagar Qim Temples, Blue Grotto, Marsaxlokk Fishing Village & Birgu Tour

We start our day with a visit to the ancient UNESCO temples of Hagar Qim. Before entering the temples we start at the visitors centre which will help you understand how these magnificent temples were built over 5000 years ago! We then continue with our visit to the actual temple site. This temple has some of the largest and heaviest megaliths out of all the temple sites around the Maltese Islands, some slabs weighing a staggering 20 tons.

Our next stop is the beautiful Wied iz-Zurrieq, famous for the magnificent Blue Grotto. This tiny hamlet sits in a valley and has a very picturesque harbour. The grotto and neighbouring system of sea caves are home to brilliant phosphorescent marine life. A 25-minute boat trip (which is optional) explores the incredible beauty of this natural wonder and is a "must-do". You will visit many of the caves and can admire the amazing crystal clear azure sea.

We then continue to our next stop and have an opportunity to experience a little local culture when visiting the pretty traditional and active fishing village of Marsaxlokk. Marsaxlokk is a quaint fishing village and is characterized by low-lying buildings and colourful traditional fishing boats known as the 'luzzu'. A small market lines the seafront, and you will have some free time to wander around, grab a drink and enjoy the ambience of this seaside village.

Next is the stunning Cospicua waterfront, which offers magnificent views of the Three Cities. Here we will enjoy Malta's favourite snack, the traditional 'FTIRA', which is also recognized by UNESCO as a cultural intangible! The ftira is a flatbread made from sourdough and is typically filled with tuna chunks, tomatoes, capers, olives or anything you like really. Complimenting your ftira is our national soft drink, 'KINNIE'. This is made from bitter oranges and wormwood extracts and is best served cold, with ice and a slice of lemon. It has a delicious bittersweet taste.

The final part of our tour is a 2-hour walking tour of Birgu. This walking tour will step you back in time, to an era dominated by the gallant Knights of St. John. We start at the entrance to this fortified city and make our way through three gateways. Our walking tour will take us to the heart of the city, through the narrow streets and quaint alleys known as the 'collacchio', an area of old Palazzo's which were the original Auberges occupied by the Knights. We will visit the quaint piazza, the heart and soul of this ancient community before joining the waterfront. The Birgu and Cosipicua waterfronts are considered to be one of the most beautiful harbours around the Maltese islands. In the past they would have been occupied by galleys and pirate ships, nowadays magnificent yachts occupy the berths. At this stage, our walking tour ends.

We continue along the waterfront to the ferry terminal for a short ferry crossing the Grand Harbour. During this short ferry crossing you will be surrounded by the maritime cities of Cospicua to the south, Senglea to the West, Birgu to the East, and the magnificent view of Valletta's fortifica*tions straight ahead...it is amazing sight to see. On arrival in Valletta, we take the panoramic elevator to the upper level of the city and back to the tour starting point.

Wednesday
Gozo Island Tour

Our tour to Gozo starts with the fast ferry service from Valletta direct to the pretty port of Mgarr. The charm of Gozo is apparent the moment you arrive there. Greener, more rural, and smaller than Malta. Our tour is a combination of scenic spots, historical sites, local culture, and food.

Due to our early start, we have an opportunity to visit a 75-year-old traditional bakery in one of the local towns. Watch them prepare for their daily baking and you will also have the opportunity to taste something they would have baked a little earlier.

Our next stop is the magnificent Ggantija temples, meaning 'Giant Temples'. These temples also enjoy UNESCO status and are considered to be amongst the oldest free-standing megalithic monuments in the world dating, back over 5500 years. The adjoining visitor's centre boasts artifacts from the temple site and also from the nearby underground temple site of the Xaghra Circle (4100BC), studies of samples and results from which are still emerging.

A scenic drive will pass through quaint sleepy villages that characterise Gozo's unique charm. The drive also highlights the north coast including a stop at the Calypso Cave belvedere, this viewing point offers breathtaking views over the red sands of Ramla Bay and the lush fertile valley which leads down to it. This panoramic coastal driver drive takes us to Xwejni Bay with its salt pans and the natural feature of Qolla l-Bajda.

We continue on to one of the most photographed sites on Gozo, Dwejra. This is a site of ecological and geological importance, which includes the Blue Hole, The General's Rock and the Inland Sea.

We then go to the pretty seaside village of Xlendi. The picturesque bay has a small sandy beach and restaurants lining the waterfront. Here you will have some free time for a lunch break.

After lunch we will visit, Victoria the capital of Gozo. The main attraction is the 'The Citadel', a small fortified town that dominates the heights above the island capital. This site has been inhabited since the Bronze Age period. Walking through this historical gem one can admire the medieval layout with interesting features and some excellent examples of domestic medieval architecture, blending with the buildings of the Knights of St John. Once at the top, a stunning panorama of the whole island and even Malta's northern coast enfolds.

We make our back to Victoria and drive down to the port for the ferry back to Valletta.
