On arrival at the port you will check-in and board the catamaran. The crossing is estimated to take 90 minutes, however this can be slightly longer on occasions, depending on weather conditions. The Catamaran is equipped with restrooms, a very good cafeteria serving a variety of hot or cold snacks/beverages and a small boutique/gift shop.
On arrival in Pozzallo you will be directed to your tour coach for the start of your Sicily tour. The day starts with a visit to Marzamemi, a small village on the coast. On our arrival at this mutli coloured typical Sicilian fishing village you will have free time to explore and visit the famous Campisi establishment which is famous for its local delacisies and fish products including fish eggs, raw tuna (bottarga), red tuna, Sicilian sauces, Pachino tomatoes and other items grown in the area.
Our next stop includes a visit to a local winery. Wine making in Sicily is part of the local culture and the wine cellar you visit produces wines from gapes grown in the area, particularly the Nero D'Avola and the famous dessert wine Moscato do Noto. We proceed to the old town of Noto. This town lies at the foot of the Iblean Mountains and is famous for its fine buildings of the early 18th century, many of which are considered to be among the finest examples of Sicilian baroque style. During your free time here take a stroll along the main streets such as 'Corso Vittorio Emanuele' and see some the of city's prime sites including Palazzo Ducezio (The Municipale), The Duomo (Cathedral), Pallazzo Villadurata with its extravagant balconies amongst other sites.
During your tour we also include a typical Sicilian lunch at one of the many agriturismo farmhouse restaurants. Your lunch includes a variety of antipasto, pasta, local meat and fruit in season.
The final part of this tour includes a visit to one of Sicily's m ost famous towns, Syracuse. Syracuse has come to epitomize Greek culture in Sicily, Magna Grecia. On arrival stroll through the old part of Ortygia Island, the heart of the city center. Here you can visit the duomo a converted Greek temple and one of the oldest places of worship wordwide and equally as unique. End your tour with time to visit a local cafteria and enjoy some of the local sweets, cannoli or locally made ice cream...simply divine!
We return back to the port to board the Catamaran for our return to Malta which is scheduled to depart Sicily at 2130hrs.
If you have booked transport from the port it will be waiting for you on arrival in Malta to return you back to your hotel/drop off point.
